Lanikai Juice Our Kaka’ako Run Club

I didn’t know that I liked to coach until I was invited to be the assistant coach for the HPU cross country team in 2010. Coaching the young runners was such a neat experience because I had the chance to be the one that was watching, helping, guiding, and supporting while they were trying to achieve their goals.

So since then, I have been coaching multiple triathlon and running clinics of all levels of athletes ranging from beginners to experienced ones, and people that just want to keep a healthy exercise routine to people that are training to finish an ironman. Independently from helping them achieve their specific goals, coaching them gave me the opportunity not just to share my passion for a healthy lifestyle, but also to learn what motivates them, and consequently how I can become a better coach.

Four months ago I started a partnership with Lanikai Juice and JTB the Waikiki Run Club. The club has been a huge success thanks to the local runners and JTB Japanese tourists that show up every Wednesday with big smiles and ready for a fun run!

And I am super excited to announce that on August 6, in partnership with Lanikai Juice and Our Kaka’ako, we are going to start the Kaka’ako Run Club!

When & Where

    Hi Mariane,

I love your website in terms of it’s layout, information provided and presentation. The photographs are very nicely done, nicely exposed with great visual perspectives. Did you hire a pro photographer or did you take them yourself? I do media (web, photography… some video) for a living.

Anyway, I’m writing to you about your running club, LANIKAI JUICE OUR KAKA’AKO RUN CLUB. Is it still active? I’m a “old man” man who works at the nearby med school but runs to keep in shape but only treadmill @ the gym (yes, it’s boring but I’ve conditioned my mind to do, 5 miles, 2x/week). I haven’t enjoyed running but I thought of trying your running club, as it’s only once per week and would be a good supplement to my treadmill runs. If it’s still active, about how many people typically show up each week and what are their general level of running ability? I typically run about a 7:50 minute per mile pace, but I start off really slow then gradually increase my pace.

Hi Arnold! I really appreciate your nice comments about my blog. I do put a lot of love on it ♡ The photographs vary from professional photographer, to my sweet mother, and sometimes friends. In the end of each article I usually put the photos credits:)

5 miles two times per week is GREAT Arnold! Sometimes I run in the treadmill too. It’s a good, safe and efficient way to get the workout done!

YES! Our Lanikai Juice Run is up and literally running!
We usually have between 10 to 15 people joining the run club every week. We meet every Thursdays 5:45pm at Lanikai Juice Store. All levels are welcome. We accommodate the distance and pace according to the participants levels.
We start the run with 10 minutes of dynamic stretch, a 1 to 2 miles warm up run. For the advanced runners we offer a speed or hill workout. And we all jog back together to the Lanikai Store.
We finalize the run with a quick stretch, refreshments and we also raffle Lanikai Juice gift cards and other prizes!

It’s really fun! You are very welcome to join us!

Hi Mariane – do you still have the runs on Saturday morning from the Kahala store? I don’t see that mentioned anywhere here. If you do, how many people normally show up, and are they all abilities?
